Be our guest!
Our horses
Explore the Black Forest from the saddle of one of our docile, easy-to-ride Haflinger horses. Enjoy a lively one-hour ride, or take various hours to discover the Black Forest, or benefit from the stamina of our Haflinger horses as you make a proper whole-day excursion.
Beginners can enjoy a preliminary taster session in the exercise ring of our riding stables. Our high-spirited Haflinger foals, of which we breed two or three a year, also add to the pleasure of visiting our stables. Whether you’re a rider or just an animal-lover, or even if you’re totally at a loss when it comes to horses, you simply cannot miss the chance to take a carriage ride. Winter guests can also enjoy atmospheric rides by horse-drawn sleigh.
Things to see in the region
The village of St. Märgen, with its tall monastery church and clock museum, is just a couple of miles from the inn. A swimming pool, tennis courts, Nordic-walking routes and various cultural attractions typical of the Black Forest all add to the interest of our little corner of Germany. When you stay with us, you are just half an hour away from such attractions as the resort village of Hinterzarten, the historic city of Freiburg, Feldberg (the tallest mountain in the Black Forest), the waterfalls at Triberg, a summer sledging run, the romantic wine village of Glottertal or the animal and nature park at Löffingen.
